Public School Education
Grant County has three public consolidated school districts: Silver, Cobre, and Cliff. They provide comprehensive public education at locations throughout Grant County. The schools offer a blend of education and community activities, and are frequently counted among the best-performing schools in the state.
Silver schools combine a distributed elementary school system with centralized middle schools and high schools. Silver and Cobre Consolidated, and Cliff, offer support for a range of students' potentials, including opportunities in high school for concurrent enrollment at Western New Mexico University for qualifying students. Also within the Silver Consolidated system is an inquiry-based charter high school, Aldo Leopold. Optional and after-school activities include sports and band at the middle and high schools.
As an alternative, there is a homeschooling community that networks together to pool resources. There are approximately 42 families homeschooling in the Grant County area; half of those families belong to the Christian Home Educators Support System (CHESS).

Western New Mexico University is a four-year, state-supported campus offering a wide variety of curricula. WNMU is the only university in New Mexico to have received the state's highest recognition for quality, the 2003 Zia Award. Through its Western Works programs, WNMU can tailor training courses to your business specifications.
